LENSAPANGANDARAN.COM – Pada Senin (18/12/2023) RSUD Pandega Pangandaran menggelar acara NGOBATAN (Ngobrol Bareng Seputar Kesehatan) bersama drg. Rani Septikasari, Sp. B.M.M.
Dia adalah Dokter Gigi Spesialis Bedah Mulut dan Maksilofasial RSUD Pandega Pangandaran dengan tema “Apakah Infeksi Gigi Mengancam Nyawa?”
Ngobatan dilaksanakan di ruang tunggu poliklinik lantai 3 Gedung A RSUD Pandega Pangandaran dan disiarkan pula secara live melalui Instagram resmi milik RSUD Pandega Pangandaran.
Infeksi odontogenik merupakan infeksi yang terjadi di dalam rongga mulut yang disebabkan oleh jaringan keras gigi dan jaringan penyangga gigi.
Infeksi gigi bisa terjadi melalui :
1. Periapikal : jalur masuk infeksi di rongga mulut melalui gigi berlubang dan meyebabkan pulpa gigi mati.
2. Periodontal : jalur masuk infeksi di rongga mulut melalui gusi infeksi yang dipenuhi karang gigi.
3. Perikorona : jalur masuk infeksi melalui gigi bungsu yang tumbuh tidak sempurna.
Kerusakan gigi bisa terjadi karena fisik (trauma, suhu makanan terlalu dingin atau panas), kimiawi (bahan kimia, makanan yang terlalu asam), biologi (bakteri).
Banyak macam kerusakan gigi, diantaranya :
1. Pulpitis reversible : radang pulpa yang masih bisa diperbaiki dengan penambalan gigi karena kerusakan hanya sampai ke dentin.
2. Pulpitis irreversible : lubang gigi yang lebih dalam yang menyebabkan pulpa gigi radang dan tidak bisa langsung sembuh namun harus melalui perawatan saluran akar.
3. Nekrosis/ gangren pulpa : gigi berlubang yang sudah besar serta tidak menimbulkan rasa sakit karena gigi sudah mati sehingga harus dilakukan pencabutan gigi.
4. Abses periapical : Adanya nanah pada rongga mulut yang terjadi karena infeksi
5. Abses spasium : Bengkak yang berisi nanah terjadi di area wajah karena infeksi yang terjadi pada gigi.
Sumber infeksi harus sesegera mungkin dihilangkan dengan cara :
1. Perawatan saluran akar
2. Ekstraksi (insisi drainase)
3. Pemberian antibiotika dan analgetika
4. Terapi suportif dengan memperhatikan adanya gangguan pertahanan tubuh
Semakin cepat infeksi odontogenik dilakukan pengobatan maka tingkat keberhasilan perawatan akan semakin tinggi.
Apabila dirasakan sudah ada keluhan pada gigi, segera lakukan konsultasi ke dokter gigi agar bisa mendapatkan perawatan lebih lanjut.
