Saat membaca, otak dituntut untuk berpikir, menganalisis berbagai masalah, mencari solusi hingga menemukan hal-hal baru.
Hal demikian dilakukan pemerintah desa Binangun Kecamatan Pataruman Kota Banjar Jawa Barat dengan menyediakan perpustakaan umum di area Kantor Desa.
Kehadiran perpustakaan tersebut bisa melayani masyarakat Desa Binangun hingga ke daerah terpencil serta bisa dimanfaatkan masyarakat dalam mengembangkan potensi diri.
Ketua perpustakaan, Neneng menyebut, pembaca atau pengunjung perpustakaan di dominasi oleh anak-anak sekolah dasar.
“Setiap hari ada peningkatan pengunjung, rata-rata sekitar 20 hingga 30 pengunjung” katanya saat di wawancarai Jumat, (28/7/2023).
Selain itu, perpustakaan tersebut terdapat kursus bahasa francis yang berkolaborasi dengan perpustakaan Cisarua dan kursus mata pelajaran matematika.
Neneng mengatakan, perpustakaan Desa Binangun telah meraih beberapa penghargaan dari pemerintah setempat maupun provinsi.
“Kalau di kota Banjar juara 1 di tingkat kota dan pernah mendapatkan juara harapan 3 di tingkat provinsi” ucapnya.
Belum lama ini kata dia, perpustakaan Desa Binangun telah mendapatkan buku dari perpustakaan nasional (perpusnas) sebanyak 300 eksemplar atau 130 judul buku.
Sementara itu, Kepala Desa Binangun, Bubun Sahban Farid Marup menyebut, ruangan perpustakaan hanya berukuran 3×3 meter dan membutuhkan ruangan yang cukup.
“Mudah-mudahan ada bantuan dari pemerintah untuk pengembangan perpustakaan agar bisa mencenderdaskan generasi anak bangsa dengan membaca buku” ungkapnya. (art)
