“Jadi, saya garis bawahi, kita memiliki anak-anak cerdas dan pandai. Tapi kita tidak pernah malu memiliki anak-anak yang masih belum bisa membaca” katanya.
Pihaknya akan memfokuskan dan memberikan bimbingan, waktu dan perhatian lebih kepada pelajar yang tidak bisa membaca.
“Saya optimis 32 anak ini bisa saya dorong dengan kerjasama para guru di SMPN 1 mangunjaya” kata dia.
Sementara itu, Kepala Sekolah SMP Negeri 1 Mangunjaya Adi Sumarna mengakui, puluhan siswanya tidak bisa membaca dan menulis.
“Memang siswa kami ada yang tidak bisa membaca dan menulis,” kata dia.
Ia mengatakan, maka sekolah inisiatif sebagai pelayan di sekolah terhadap siswa, terus mendorong dan memberikan yang terbaik, terutama dalam kesulitan membaca dan menulis.
“Maka kami memberikan pengarahan, ada beberapa guru yang disiapkan untuk membantu anak tersebut, khususnya yang tidak bisa membaca,” katanya.
