LENSAPANGANDARAN.COM – Puluhan petani di dua kecamatan memanen lebih awal lantaran khawatir padi yang mulai menguning terendam air yang bersumber dari luapan sungai Citanduy.
Beberapa hari kebelakang intensitas curah hujan tinggi membuat sungai Citanduy meluap naik ke permukaan bahkan mengalir ke areal Pesawahan warga.
Pantauan dilapangan, jumat siang sekitar pukul 12:30 WIB terlihat luapan air sungai Citanduy mulai merendam area lahan pesawahan dengan jarak mencapai 20 meter dari badan sungai Citanduy.
Kondisi tersebut di prediksi akan terus melebar bila terjadi hujan susulan dari hulu sungai. atau pun wilayah tersebut.
Peristiwa tersebut sontak membuat sejumlah petani khawatir pasalnya padi yang mulai menguning terancam terendam air.
Tonah (53) petani warga setempat memilih dipanen lebih awal karena merasa cemas dengan kondisi sungai yang mulai meluap ke permukaan.
“Ya, saya panen lebih awal soalnya takut kebanjiran” ucapnya saat di temui sedang memanen padi Jumat, (05/05/2023).
Menurutnya, peristiwa seperti ini suatu hal biasa di setiap tahunnya namun untuk musim panen tahun ini ia mengira musim kemarau.
“seharusnya kan tahun ini musim kemarau, jadi saya kira mau kemarau terus, eh ternyata malah hujan terus” katanya.
Diketahui, lokasi sungai Citanduy terletak diperbatasan antara dua kecamatan yakni di Desa Ciganjeng Kecamatan Padaherang dan Desa Tunggilis Kecamatan Kalipucang Kabupaten Pangandaran Jawa Barat.
Menurut dia, bila musim hujan terjadi semua lahan pesawahan di dua kecamatan tersebut terendam banjir hingga menutupi akses jalan Pesawahan.
“Saya berharap pihak pemerintah bisa membuat peninggian tanggul yang permanen agar sungai tidak membanjiri lahan pesawahan” ungkapnya. (art)
