LENSAPANGANDARAN.COM – Pemerintah Provinsi (Pemprov) Jawa Barat (Jabar) bersama Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Jabar mencatat rekor dalam penyelenggaraan Uji Kompetensi Wartawan (UKW) dengan peserta terbanyak di Indonesia dalam kurun waktu 8 bulan.
Program yang digagas oleh Gubernur Jabar Ridwan Kamil ini berhasil menjaring sebanyak 648 peserta dari 27 kabupaten/kota di Jawa Barat.
Dari 648 peserta UKW itu yang kompeten sebanyak 483 orang. Sedangkan sisanya belum kompeten.
Kepala Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika (Dsikominfo) Jabar, DR. IKa Mardiah dalam keterangan pers, Kamis (31/8) menyebut program UKW merupakan bagian dari upaya Pemprov Jawa Barat mewujudkan Jawa Barat Juara di sektor sumber daya manusia (SDM).
“Pemprov Jabar ingin berkontribusi meningkatan kualitas wartawan lewat penyelenggaraan UKW bagi wartawan,” kata Ika.
Atas pencapaian ini, Pemprov Jabar mendapat penghargaan dari PWI Pusat pada peringatan Hari Pers Nasional (HPN) di Medan beberapa waktu yang lalu.
Ketua PWI Jabar, Hilman Hidayat mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Gubernur Jabar, Ridwan Kamil dan Diskominfo atas kolaborasi yang telah tercipta selama ini.
Ini menunjukan kerja sama pentahelix memang sangat dibutuhkan untuk membangun Jawa Barat.
“Terima kasih Gubernur Jabar dan Diskominfo. Kolaborasi ini juga telah menjadi contoh bagi daerah lain di Indonesia,” ujar Hilman.
Hilman berharap, kolaborasi ini bisa terus berlanjut sehingga pembangunan sumber daya manusia di Jabar akan semakin juara.
Sedangkan Penanggung Jawab UKW PWI Jabar, Ahmad Syukri mengungkapkan, tingkat kelulusan dari pelaksanaan road show UKW mencapai 87 persen.
Ia merinci, dari titik pertama hingga ke delapan tercatat sebanyak 648 orang pendaftar.
Namun yang mengikuti ujian hanya 550 orang, karena 98 orang peserta mengundurkan diri.
Para peserta yang mengikuti UKW terdiri dari jenjang muda, madya dan utama.
” Jika dihitung, tingkat kelulusan mencapai 87 persen,” katanya.
Ia berharap, dengan bertambahnya ratusan wartawan yang kompeten di Jabar dapat berimbas kepada meningkatnya profesionalisme wartawan.
Sehingga, kata dia, akan berimbas pula terhadap meningkatkan kualitas jurnalistik yang dihasilkan wartawan.
“Jika wartawan semakin profesional, maka bisa membantu menangkal berita-berita hoaks di masyarakat,” bebernya.
Ke depan, sambungnya, program ini terus akan berlanjut setiap tahunnya, sebagaimana komitmen Pemprov Jabar dalam meningkatkan kompetensi wartawan.
“Tahun depan mudah-mudahan dapat kita akan gelar lagi. Mengingat animo dari peserta masih tinggi,” tutupnya.(*)
